Welcome to The Prostate Clinic

Perth’s first multidisciplinary centre dedicated to the prevention and management of prostate disease and men’s heath based at Hollywood Private Hospital, Nedlands.

Prostate disease is a common condition, affecting 1 in 2 men in their lifetimes, making it a problem that we all need to think about. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 5 men during their lifetime and is the second most common cause of cancer death in Australian men. However, prostate cancer is highly curable if found early and at The Prostate Clinic we are devoted to reducing the impact of this disease through awareness, early detection and expert care.

With over 23 years’ experience and thousands of prostate cancer patients treated, The Prostate Clinic brings together a team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians, exercise physiologists and psychologists to deliver optimal patient care. Our focus on prostate disease and men’s health keeps us at the forefront of treatments and technology. Dr Shannon has a specialty interest in MRI diagnostics, Da Vinci robotic surgery, brachytherapy, radiotherapy and greenlight laser surgery. Prostate treatment is difficult and complex. Sub specialisation means high volumes to deliver the best possible outcomes both for cancer and recovery, with Dr Shannon performing 1500 prostate cancer surgeries alone. We initiated the first Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse in WA, now based at Hollywood Hospital.

Dr Shannon is on the advisory board for the Prostate Cancer Foundation, West Australian Urological Research Organisation and the Exercise Medicine Research Institute. He is also a teacher and mentor for graduating University of Western Australia medical students. Through our affiliated clinic, Ionic Health, we can offer men’s health preventative services to keep you healthy as a whole. One team, dedicated to the best in men’s health.
